2023 Moretti Rosso Mio (Super-Tuscan)
"Here’s a smart way to get a Pinot Noir from Paul Lato, who makes this wine for the folks behind the Taste of the Sta. Rita Hills tasting room in Los Olivos. Smoothly integrated aromas of dark cherry, cola and oak are juicy and lovable. The rounded palate offers strawberry, rhubarb pie and chai spice." - Editors’ Choice." - Matt Kettman, 93WE
"The 2022 Pinot Noir showed nicely, with a charming, forward, nicely balanced style. Ripe red fruits (cherries, raspberries), spice, and floral notes all make an appearance in the glass, and it's medium-bodied, has a pure, elegant mouthfeel, and outstanding length. It's a beautiful effort. The 2022 comes from a mix of sites in the Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley and was all destemmed and aged in 10% new French oak." -Jeb Dunnuck, 92JD
The 2021 Moretti Pinot Noir was such a success that we doubled down on Paul’s craftsmanship to secure another masterful blend of Santa Barbara County fruit for the 2022 release. A blend of fruit that didn’t make the final cut of his Zotovich, Peake Ranch, Sebastiano and Solomon Hills single vineyard bottlings, this wine delivers on both Pinot and bold note promises. Powerful red and purple fruit notes jump from the glass, matched on the palate by gentle tannin, forest floor spices and a cherry-fruited seduction. Another Moretti hit! Drink now through 2030.
