2023 Moretti 'Bianchetto', Los Olivos District
The Bianchetto is back! A favorite in the room (and our palates), the Bianchetto has always been a field blend of sorts, allowing winemaker Steve Clifton to mix some of his favorite Italian varietals from the vintage into a perfect everyday drinking white wine. Earlier this spring, we barrel tasted with Steve through a long list of white wines and found three that stood out together: Pinot Grigio, Vermentino and Malvasia Bianca. The Pinot Grigio’s fresh, Alsatian nose, coupled with the Malvasia’s floral aromatics and Vermentino’s sharp acidity make this another magical Fall sipper. Drink now through 2029.
Moretti is dedicated to producing small-lot, well-balanced, food-friendly wines in a European tradition - meant to be paired with food. Our background and wine experience comes from the old world, and we strive to produce similarly styled wines using excellent Santa Barbara County grapes. We are lucky enough to have two of the finest winemakers in our AVA, Paul Lato and Steve Clifton, make our Spring and Fall releases, respectively, providing our customers with the chance to taste 'Cru' productions at 'Village' prices.
